24th of July!

As I mentioned yesterday, here in Utah we celebrate the 24th of July. We have parades, booths, fireworks, food, family gatherings, etc…

And the kids again, with Karsyn this time!

After the parade, we walked around the park, got a few drinks and some treats. Then I went to my moms family reunion for a few minutes.

Then I went to a big family BBQ with my dads side of the fam and the kids {and adults} had a lot of fun on the water slides!

After that, I went to a Buckin’ 4 Bucks Bull Riding Rodeo! My parents were somewhat “in charge” and helped out a lot with the event. Not many qualified, but the winner got $2500!!

You know a bunch of REDNECKS are running the show when you see this on your program!

Monday Fun Day!

How about that title? Does anyone agree with me???

Didn’t think so..

This week is a SUPER BUSY one for me, so in last nights post, I said I would have lots of fun things to post.. Well, I might have lied.. I will shoot for NEXT week to post all my fun! I am really pumped for this week though.. I love to be busy.

Here’s the agenda:
Monday
8:30 a.m.: Nail appointment. I haven’t had my nails done in like two years! The last time I had them done was for Prom! They are so stinkin’ cute though!! I love them. But they are a little longer than I was planning on. And they are SO hard to get used to. You basically have to re-learn how to do EVERYTHING. I had to wake up this morning about 7:45 so I could get semi-ready before I went, although I still did go in my PJs. What did I do? You ask. I got up. Pulled my hair back. Put a headband in. Ate some cake. Drank a Mountain Dew. And checked Facebook. I think I may have a problem. I had to wake Karsyn up so he could go to my moms house while I got them done. Then once we got home, I couldn’t get him out of his carseat because I couldn’t push the flippin’ button down to undo the straps. I tried pulling him out every way I could think of, but he just cried and I felt bad because I was hurting him and couldn’t get him out. So, I had to think of something and quick! I hadn’t held him all morning! I took him right out of bed, into the carseat, and to my mom! I was missing my baby and I could tell he was missing me! I got my bottle cap hole punchers and pushed down on the button as hard as I could and finally got him out! Thank goodness. Typing this post is another story. I have had to backspace more in the last five minutes than I have this whole month. And thank goodness my phone has a translator so I can just SAY my texts and it will type it for me because I CANNOT push those tiny buttons with these long nails!! Making jewelry with these suckers should be a good time.

6:30 – Janis’ bridal shower. I still have to go to the store to get her gift. And I’ve known about this for about two weeks now. She has pretty much everything she needs and so does her fiance, so the theme is “Food Storage.” With the invites, we got two recipe cards and were told to write two of our favorites and then bring the ingredients that go along with the recipe. That’s easy enough. I wrote my moms famous Chicken Enchiladas and Zesty Italian Chicken. I will post the recipes for those in the future.. Maybe next week when Kade is home and I have a reason to make dinner.

Tuesday:
Here in Utah, we celebrate the 24th of July just like the 4th. We have parades, booths, fireworks, the whole shebang. I LOVE the 24th of July. One of my favorite holidays. So I am really excited for that. The parade in the morning, then looking around at all the booths afterward. Then going to my grandma/pa’s house for a yearly family dinner. Then after that, I am going to the Buckin For Bucks! Some of my family is in charge of it and I think my brothers may be riding a bull!!! Woohoo!! Can’t wait. Then of course, the fireworks when it’s dark!

Wednesday:
Janis’ wedding. That will be an all day thing. I will get to see all of my dads side of the fam!

Thursday-Saturday:
I will be heading to Salt Lake with Karsyn and my cousin Hadleah for Perfectly Posh‘s First Annual Convention!

I have been waiting for this week for MONTHS now!! It’s finally here. I can’t wait to learn more about this awesome company that I am working for, as well as meeting the founders, hanging out with my team, shopping, and of course all of the goodies we will be getting!!

Stay tuned for pix to come from everything!! I hope you are all having a fabulous Monday! (:

Do you have nails? Is it hard adjusting to them when you get them done? Are you a procrastinator, like me?

Lazy Sunday

In our neck of the woods, Sundays are usually lazy days where we sit around in our PJ’s ALL day. We don’t do our hair. We don’t wipe off yesterdays make-up. We leave dishes on the counter and the sink, more often than not – unrinsed. We leave toys on the floor to trip over. We don’t pick up the clothes we left on the floor from Saturday. We have blankets and pillows covering the couch. We just don’t do a whole lot of anything! I like it that way.. Although, it does add to the “fun” of Monday!

Now that I have mentioned a long list of things we don’t do, I will admit to a few things we do – do.. {Am I contradicting myself here?} I usually make a treat of some kind. Today I made a Devil’s Food cake topped with the Creamy Coconut frosting. YUM! And I totally spaced out on taking a picture. Dang it. Fail! I usually do a load or two of laundry, but I ALWAYS end up re-doing it on Monday because I left it in the washer all day, so they stink. I think I have started to learn my lesson. That would explain the overflowing dirty clothes hamper. And lastly, we usually go to one of our parents house for dinner. We used to be really good at going each week, rotating back and forth between my mom and Kade’s moms house, but with Kade’s crazy work schedule, we just go when we can. Kade had to go back to work last night, so it was just me and Karsy all day! We were bored this afternoon, so we went to my moms and hung out for a few hours. Then we came home and played together. I love my son more than words can describe!! Image

Excuse the crappy quality of the picture. It was dark and I used my phone. Anyway, we had fun reading books, playing with Chuck the Dump Truck and other toys, and most of all, just lovin’ each other!! He’s such a momma’s boy. That is a good and bad thing!

What do you do on Sunday’s? Do you have any special traditions? Family dinner?? Church? Do you stay in your PJ’s all day??

P.S. I will be posting some fun stuff this week! I can’t wait!

P.P.S. I linked up to The Foley Fam‘s Sunday Funday party with my Elk Farm story! Show her some love!

Elk Farm

Last night, my boyfriend’s brother came up for his class reunion. We hung out at the “in-laws” house and ate dinner and just sat in the back yard talking. Then this morning, we went back over for breakfast. My “mother-in-law” made waffles and butter cream syrup {which is THE. Best. Syrup. EVER}. Then after that we went to visit a local Elk farm.Image

They have quite a few Elk there. As you can see, their horns are growing well, but they have such small bodies! I thought it was kinda weird.

Image

Image

This one here had a very large drop tine. I tried to get a picture of it looking at me, but every time I did, it went back down!

Image

One last pic! They also had some baby ones with no horns and some cow elk as well, but they weren’t as cool, so I didn’t take their picture.

Have you ever been to an Elk farm before? Do you even know what an Elk farm is? What did you think of this?

For those of you that don’t know.. I sell jewelry!! And just this year, I started MAKING jewelry! I solder necklaces and bracelets, along with tons of other stuff! I am teaming up with one of my awesome friends, Ashley, from Stampressions to make some new jewels!

How freakin’ cute is that?! This is my own personal necklace with my two handsome boys! I made the photo pendant and Ashley made the little moon. Reasons Behind This Blog

Hello! I have about {two million} reasons why I started this blog.. First off.. The name of this blog is called Two Million Miles. “Why?,” you may ask. Because I feel like I am always going {two million miles} an hour!! I am a very busy mom of just one. But I have three of my own businesses, along with a very mobile and “helpful” 8-month old.Image

Yes, I know. He is so FREAKING cute! You don’t have to tell me twice! Sadly, his cuteness does not make up for all the messes he makes!

Anyway.. My reasons for starting a blog.. One, because I follow SO many blogs. I get them directly in my email. I love that! Because I forget to check them all each day, so they just come to me. One of my favorite features of a blog. You all should subscribe to this blog so you never miss a post! (; Another reason is because I feel like I am so behind in this world since I don’t have a blog. And another reason is because I LOVE Pinterest {follow me at http://www.pinterest.com/jourdan_3} and I have about {two million} pins, but I rarely make anything from there. And I know I am not alone! So I figured having a blog and subscribers would help motivate me to actually get crafty! I will also post things about myself, my family, my friends, and my businesses. Basically you’re getting the whole shebang! I hope you enjoy!!

P.S. I am still learning all of the ropes of blogging, so bear with me! (:
